PROFILE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY
In view of lively rural surroundings and rich diversity in plants, animals and bio- culture, there has been a candid demand for opening Biological Science department in Dinhata College and therefore in 1997 formally the Bio science section with the Departments of Botany and Zoology was opened. Since then the department of Botany has been enrolled for only general stream of course. From the academic session of 2015-16, the Department was upgraded to Honours level of teaching under Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University. The department has shifted to the Jagadish Chandra Bose Bhawan (Science Block) with two new laboratories.

Students access the Central library. The Department does not have any library as such. But the complementary copies provided by different publishers are preserved for use of the students.
